What is Secure Messaging?     

Secure Messaging is the process of:      

  • Identifying outbound email messages that need to be encrypted by using policies defined by the company.
  • Encrypting the email messages.
  • Sending encrypted messages using ZixCorp's Best Method of Delivery™.

What is Best Method of Delivery?

Best Method of Delivery (BMOD) allows encrypted email to be delivered in the manner that works best for the recipient.  It supports delivering encrypted emails to software clients or gateways using a variety of encryption standards.  Additionally, BMOD provides methods of delivering encrypted emails to users who do not have encryption capabilities, including a secure Pull model.

What Internet browsers are recommended to use with the Secure Message Center?

Most Internet browsers function properly with the Secure Message Center, including Microsoft® Internet Explorer®, Mozilla® Firefox® and Apple® Safari™.

What mobile devices are recommended to use with the Secure Message Center?

Most major mobile platforms function properly with the Secure Message Center, including Apple® iPhone® and iPad®, BlackBerry® devices and Android ® devices.

How long does a customer have to read the message I sent to them?

Messages you send to a customer expire 14 days from when you send them the message.

Can a customer send an encrypted email back to me?

Yes. After a customer views their email in the Secure Message Center, they can select Reply or Reply All to send an encrypted email back to you. Customers can also use the Compose page in the Secure Message Center to initiate a secure email to you.
